Nanee's Review of Coming Clean by Silvia Violet

Blurb:

An unexpected inheritance lands Jeremy a large house and plenty of money to take a sabbatical from his job teaching poetry at a small college. He intends to sell the house and take off on a new path to discover what he wants out of life. Then he meets Connor. The attraction he feels to a man so different from himself is no less shocking than his change in financial circumstances, but Connor is in the closet and Jeremy wants a life lived out in the sun.

Connor is a former Force Recon Marine who runs a housecleaning business. When he’s hired to get Jeremy’s house market-ready, he’s startled by how attracted he is to his client despite their many differences. But his past, especially his final mission, weighs heavily on him. He’s not certain he can be the man Jeremy needs, but no man has ever made him want to take a risk like Jeremy does.

Nanee's Review:

absolutely loved this book! I fell for the characters right from the beginning and loved them even more at the end. Jeremy inherited his Aunt and Uncles large home that he grew up in and enough money that he can take time off from teaching and write like his dream has always been. I loved the authors descriptions of Jeremy's feelings when moving into the house, his life wasn't always great and although he was never physically abused his childhood was not a great one, his emotions are on high alert when he first moves in. David Jeremy's Best friend is hysterical in parts and I wanted to hit him in others..lol. He has Jeremy's back though that's the important part. I love that Jeremy is out and proud.

Connor is a bad ass marine, who is sexy as hell and built like a wall of muscle. He's home from active duty and not sure what he wants to do with his life. He won't go home because the physical and emotional abuse he endured there isn't something he wants to repeat but with the help of his friend Mario's sister Sabrina he is able to take a break with a place to live to figure out what to do with his life. I loved these two as friends, they pick on each other and bust each others asses but have each others backs too. Connor is gay but no one knows it so he's dealing with being home, having his best friend stay in the marines without him and not being able to be out of the closet, he's dealing with a lot. Loved his character from start to finish.

When these two meet the attraction is immediate but something they don't act on right away. I loved them giving each other flirty looks and hints but drawn out the actual next step. I thought they were perfect for each other, the smart scholarly type and the bad ass marine. I can't say enough about how much I loved these two together, they had their problems but they fought hard to be together, Jeremy taught Connor it's ok to be out and happy and Connor taught Jeremy how to be strong and look at himself differently and they both taught each other how to love and be loved.

I want to say so much more but you have to read it for yourself. It has it all. Sexy as hell sex scenes, sweet at times and rough and nasty at others (sizzling) and the sweetest kisses and love ever. Some parts were a little obvious but that's ok because the writing just made it perfect. I thought the Mario parts were important and loved how the author dealt with that issue with Connors best friend. The whole story meshed perfectly and I have say I was sad to see it end. I would love to read more by this author....WOW! 5 stars
