Nanee's Review of Texas Mail Order Bride by Linda Broday

Blurb:

It was strange how a day could go south quicker than a steam locomotive on a downhill slope...

Rancher Cooper Thorne thinks his life is finally on an even keel. But when mail-order bride Delta Dandridge steps off the stagecoach and claims he sent for her, he scrambles to set her straight. The tempestuous woman makes him see red and also challenges all his vows to remain a bachelor. It turns out Delta Dandridge is going to set Cooper Thorne straight about a few things...

Nanee's Review:

I always enjoy reading historical romances with sexy Cowboys, small towns and feisty heroines. Delta Dandridge answered a Mail order bride ad in a local paper and jumped at the chance to start fresh in her life, what she didn't realize is the groom was unsuspecting. I loved how Delta from the start had more gumption then most men, she's strong willed, proud and does not waste tears but inside she's a hurt soul that never belonged anywhere and just wants someone to care about her.

Cooper Thorne has a past one he tries to forgot but knows that's impossible. He's a confirmed never to be married bachelor who works hard, cares deeply for his brothers and always puts others (including Bandit) first. When he meets Delta he's shocked and a little rude to her not understanding why she was claiming to be his mail order bride. Love the getting to know each other stages, love how they both can't stop thinking of each other, love their secret smiles and stolen kisses.

I thought this book was well written. A lot of action and twists and turns keep you on your toes. I thought the writer captured each characters lives perfectly, their hurt, their triumph and their love. I loved all the secondary characters, especially John and Jenny and of course Ben and Granny but who I loved most was Rand and Brett Coopers brothers, can't wait to read their stories. I loved Cooper and Delta together, they are perfect for each other. A lot of surprises and love to keep you smiling. 4.5-5 stars
