Nanee's Review of Bad Bones by Linda Ladd

Blurb:

BAD OMEN
Homicide detective Claire Morgan has a bad feeling when a man’s body is found in a Missouri State Park. The crime scene is buried in snow. The corpse is frozen in ice. And nearly every bone has been broken, shattered, or crushed…
BAD BLOOD
Claire’s suspicions only get worse when the body is thawed and identified. The victim was an ultimate fighter on the cage-match circuit. His wife blames her ex-husband, a Russian mafioso. But Claire knows this is no mob-style execution. This is something worse. Something evil…
BAD BONES
Raised from childhood to inflict pain, the killer uses rage as a weapon. Punishing without mercy. Killing without conscience. Upholding a dark family tradition that is so twisted, so powerful, it destroys everything in its path. And Claire is about to meet the family…

Nanee's Review:
I'm torn with this book, it's a dark suspense that hooks you right right off the bat with the creepy but so perfect description of Punk and Bones but also freaks you out and turns your stomach at what these characters go through. I thought the writing style was amazing and the descriptions outstanding, it was just really hard to read in the fact that it hit you hard in the heart for so many reasons. The kids I hurt for, the father and his drunken friends I wanted to hurt badly or worse, it killed me slowly when reading to see the things that happened in this story, I had nightmares of the dogs ( I'm a total dog lover) and would have loved to never read that but again the writer created a suspenseful story with hatred, hurt, mental illness and all other things in between. Bones is one sick freaking guy...Love Claire, this detective is tough as nails, sweet and good at her job. Love Black too, they are so freakin hot together, Joe is awesome too. If your looking for a wow story with horrible murders and demented minds read this story, the writing is amazing and the twists an turns are  creatively plotted and written as well. wow. I don't know how to rate this, this book disturbed me but the story itself was well done. 4 stars
