Nanee's Review of Adam's Ambition and Author Spotlight with Monica Tillery

Book Description:

Meet Adam, the first of five unforgettable characters in the Emerald Springs Legacy.

Life in the small town of Emerald Springs, Washington, is anything but slow and peaceful. An old feud between former business partners Whitman and Sanders keeps competition on a high burner, fueling resentment, renewing rivalries … and love. Now someone is trying to bring down Emerald Tea Farm, and it’s up to both families to protect their future while still wrangling over the past.

Oldest son Adam Whitman never planned to take his place at the helm of the family business, and he’s living the life he always wanted. When his father asks him to come home to consider his options, he reluctantly leaves his high-powered job in Los Angeles and heads to Emerald Springs, determined to help his father make the transition to retirement and quickly get back to his own life. What he didn’t count on was the pull of the one person he’d left behind to chase his dreams.

Getting over Adam was the hardest thing Zoe Miller ever had to do, and she’s in no hurry to do it again. She’s focused on her new life running Emerald Springs’s finest bakery, and she’s finally put the heartache of losing Adam behind her. When he rolls back into town, she knows it would be wiser to keep her distance from her high school sweetheart, but some things are easier said than done. A broken heart would be more devastating the second time around, but can she resist the lure of the man he’s become?

Now everything Adam took for granted is suddenly threatened, and he’s caught between his newly awakened attachment to Emerald Springs and the career he built with his hands. He wants it all—the girl, the farm, the corner office—but first Zoe has to find it her heart to give him a second chance at all.

Nanee's Review:

Love these characters. I loved Adam, I love that he thought he was happy in LA and that his life was figured out that's until he gets called home, his dad wants him to take over Emerald Spring Farms but a offer in LA is exactly what he wants or thinks he does . Love Zoe even though she's moved on once Adam ended their  relationship and started a new life in LA she  still has feelings and doubts when Adam comes home. I loved their re getting to know each other again and their vulnerability. I loved his family time especially with his dad. I love how Adam realizes that he misses being home and misses his family and especially Zoe. I thought this book was written in great detail with the farm and life on the farm, the author knows how to tell a story that's for sure. I felt part of Adam's family. I thought Adam and Zoe's coming together was sweet and romantic no rush or regrets. I don't want to give too much away but can't wait to read the next book in this series and look forward to more by this author. 4.5 stars

Cover Blurb:

Richard Morgan can’t believe his father is considering a rival candy company’s offer to buy out the family business that he loves. Though the confections division is tiny compared to the family’s other ventures, it’s close to his heart. Maybe too close, since the thought of losing it feels like losing his mother all over again. Convinced it’s the best way to continue the Morgan legacy, his father offers Richard control of the company if he’ll secure the family name with a marriage. After a messy, public divorce, marriage is the last thing Richard wants to consider, but according to his father, it’s the only way.

Yvette Cruz is the beautiful, savvy mergers and acquisitions rep charged with brokering the buyout agreement between her company and Morgan Confectioners, and Richard Morgan is the only thing standing between her and the promotion she desperately wants. She came from nothing and worked her way to the top of her field, so she’s not about to let his refusal to cooperate stop her from getting what she wants.

Corporate rivalry gives way to an unwise attraction when the two meet and spend a night together that ultimately changes their lives forever. Two enemies find love, but a betrayal threatens to tear them apart. Forgiveness and redemption can lead to everything they’ve ever wanted, but some things can’t be forgotten.
